My husband and I are thrilled we chose Distinctive Design + Build + Remodel in undertaking the renovation of our master bath and master closet. The results are spectacular and exactly what we envisioned.

We began this renovation project after buying a second home in Charlotte. We had to find a contractor and design team who were comfortable managing this project with our being on the West Coast. After interviewing several renovation teams, we chose Erin and Vince because of their knowledge, design and contractor strengths. In addition, they are a fantastic team and so personable.

In the midst of choosing Distinctive Design and beginning the project, COVID lockdowns began. We had to rely on Erin and Vince 100% to make sure the design and construction were managed well. Erin was patient and reliable in sending us samples for all our choices and creating a design that more than met our expectations. In the design phase, Erin listened to our needs and created different solutions. Finalizing the plan by phone and material choices by mail worked extremely well for us due to Erin’s knowledge and skill as a designer.

As the General Contractor, Vince and his chosen contractors did a top-notch job in creating reality from the plans. I give Vince a score of A+++ in the workmanship and craft of the renovation and managing all aspects of the construction and making our dreams become a reality. Budget wise, the Distinctive Design Team renovation came in as planned.

I love walking into our new master bath and closet. I am always delighted when looking at the material choices, colors and beautiful construction. Each time I see the bath and closet, I smile. This renovation has made me look forward to being in our Charlotte home.

Erin and Vince met with on a number of occasions, and guided us through the entire design process through which our concepts could be made real. The process was much more complex than we anticipated but Erin and Vince’s design and construction management expertise was invaluable in assisting us toward the development of the ideal kitchen.  

We had some thoughts of what we wanted but Erin provided us with an extensive range of design possibilities and resources that made us realize that our new kitchen could far exceed our initial concept. Everything from layout to architectural enhancements was considered and discussed at length. Her aesthetic sense was invaluable in producing a kitchen that we would love. We were presented with detailed drawings and renderings that allowed us to see where we were going. At every step of the process, Erin was immediately available to provide answers and guidance.

We had a lot of questions concerning the construction phase. How long was it going to take? How much disruption to our lives and home? How much dust and dirt? Vince laid out the entire process, in detail, for us. He addressed every one of our concerns as well as some we never considered. The entire project, and each individual step, was accompanied by a timeline that was rigidly adhered to so that we knew, every day down to the hour, where we were in the process and where we were going.

Any question we asked was answered with a thorough explanation and, on occasion, a demonstration. No issue was too small to address. We learned quite a lot about the science and application of the building process. Vince's supervision and management of the contractors was superb. His complete professionalism was demonstrated time and time again. He also has a great sense of humor which went a long way in easing our anxiety.

For Elizabeth and I this was, by far, the largest and most complex home project we ever entertained. Distinctive Design + Build + Remodel was the perfect choice as witnessed by the final result: a beautiful kitchen that is everything we could have hoped for. This is my third project with Vince and Erin, and I am beyond thrilled with my new back porch and patio. They were able to turn my old, leaky porch into a fantastic outdoor living space complete with a firepit. The quality of work that went into this project was top notch, from the tile floor to the gorgeous ceiling.

One of my favorite features is the floor to ceiling screens that keep the bugs away without impeding the view of our backyard. Plus, they added a slight slope to the porch roofline to prevent another leaky situation. Another great design concept was the open-air patio adjacent to the porch for grilling and dining with the family.

Finally, Erin helped me select the light fixtures to add the perfect lighting in the evenings. I cannot say enough great things about Vince and Erin and their ability to tackle complex renovations with beautiful results!
